Is Better Than Andy a cover band?
yes and no. At the moment we play mostly cover songs because we don't have a full set of orignals completed. Besides, we just love the songs we cover. And you should too.
Where did the name come from?
We got our name when Josiah and a guy named Andy got back an assignment in school and when asked what kind of grade he got Josiah proclaimed "Better Than Andy." He'd done this the year before also with Troy, but none of his bandmates were in his class at the time and the band wasn't forming anyway.
Why isn't the website complete?
Well, first of all, Josiah is a procrastinator and a slacker. Also we're in the middle of a school year. Also we're working on playing and writing music more than we are filling out our bios.
Where did Chris's basses' and Josiah's guitars' names come from?
Teddy - Chris's old musicmaster - who the hell knows
Maria - Chris's new mustang - the color is Fiesta red. Maria is spanish sounding like fiesta (because it's spanish)
Candy - Chris's acoustic bass - she's red and shiny like a whore, and Candy is a whore's name apparently
Winona - Josiah's Fernandes - named after John Crichton's best pulse pistol on the show Farscape. Winona's dependable too.
Nora - Josiah's Ovation acoustic - it's named after Nora, friend and ex-bandmate.
How do Chris and Josiah get their hair all curly and afro-y?
It's a very long, involved, and complicated process:
STEP 1! - wash hair!
STEP 2! - dry hair!
STEP 3! - ...yeah. I guess that's about it.
more importantly, how does Josiah get his straight some of the time? the answer: a flat iron.
How do pronounce Josiah's name?
Joe-sigh-uh. Or you could just call him jojo. That works, but never capitalize it.. Also some people call him Jesus.
What is a "Bloody Casey"?
A Bloody Casey is a mixed alcoholic beverage invented by Nora and Josiah. It contains Vodka, Seasonings, and Human Blood; it's essentially a Bloody Mary substituting blood for tomato juice. And no, the blood isn't necessarily Casey's.
